Boxing and music go together like cereal and milk or crackers and cheese. When your favourite song starts playing you just start giving it more and the music just pumps you up.

High tempo songs are the best because they actually help you go quicker because you try to follow the beat. You can go in line with the rhythm of the music and it helps everything flow better.

A great collaboration by Eminem and the late Nate Dogg. Combines the RnB of Nate Dogg and the faster rapping by Eminem. Till I Collapse has a great beat, good lyrics and just is an overall great track.





7.  The Warrior Pt 2 – Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, Eminem and Nate Dogg

The Warrior Pt 2 has one of the best beats ever, combine that with the voice and flow of Nate Dogg and the rapping of 50 Cent, Eminem and Lloyd Banks – makes this an awesome track.

If this track doesn’t pump you up, then there’s something wrong with you!



6. Him ‘Em Up – Tupac

Not much of a workout song but still one to add to your music player. An aggressive and fast rap song by the legendary Tupac. The song does feature a lot of swearing but that doesn’t really matter! It’s a great track after all!



5. Intro – DMX

Used by Mike Tyson as his entrance music in his fight against Francis Botha in 1999. A track that starts slow but when DMX starts rapping has amazing flow and stunning lyrics. DMX is an excellent rapper and it shows in this track. It’s no doubt why Mike Tyson used this as his entrance music.


4. Heart Of A Champion – Nelly featuring Lincoln University Vocal Ensemble

A motivational track that will pump you up fasting then a bike pump pumps up a flat tyre. All jokes aside this is a very good track with even better backing support by the Lincoln University Vocal Ensemble.

3. Eye Of The Tiger – Survivor



If you haven’t heard this yet where have you been? From the hit 80’s boxing movie Rocky III, starring Sylvester Stallone. A quintessential song for any boxer with the mixture of swift lyrics and nice beat. This has to be one of the best workout songs for boxing.

If it helped Rocky get pumped up then it can do the same for you!


2. I Want It All/We Will Rock You – Queen/Armageddon



Featured in the 2011 movie Sucker Punch mixing both the music from a legendary group like Queen and the rapping abilities of Armageddon. A beautifully crafted song mixing both elements really well.

The lyrics in the song are motivational and will make you want  to punch through walls!


1. Hero – Nas featuring Kelly Hilson

Nas is probably one of the best rappers of all time and at the same time one of the most underrated rappers as well. This song proves Nas has got the skills to make an awesome track.

Hero is a superb track with a nice beat, brilliant flow and amazing lyrics. Nas is a genius when it comes to making music and this track also features great backing support by Kelly Hilson.
